Training of Trainers Program on the linkages between gender and climate change organised by GGCA 27/11/2008
In Poznan, Poland where the United Nations Climate Change Conference will be held next week, more than twenty women professionals from Asia, Arab states, North, Central and Latin America, Africa and Europe participate from November 26-28, 2008 in the Training of Trainers Program on the linkages between gender and climate change organased by Global Gender and Climate Alliance. The goal of the training program is to build up a pool of trainers from different regions and countruies which is able to answer the growing demand for capacity-building expressed by policy-makers about the design and implementation of gender-responsive climate change policies. On the way to negotiate the post-Kyoto international climate change strategy, it is essential to put a human face on climate change and understand its differentiated impact on men and women in terms of participation, adaptation, mitigation and financial mechanisms.

It is the first time that major international bodies will unite on this important topic.
