Dear Gender List,

Below you will find the e-mail text for the climate change solutions survey
that IUCN is participating in ahead of Bali, together with the World Bank,
Globescan, WBCSD and others. The aim of the survey is to have an “experts”
view on climate change issues and solutions, covering both mitigation and
adaptation.

Around 50,000 people are being contacted by e-mail for the first survey,
with the results being released at the Bali climate change COP in mid
December. Please distribute the information to your networks too.

Many thanks,

Paula Zúñiga-Díaz

SUBJECT: Invitation to participate in influential climate change survey

IUCN will greatly appreciate your personal participation in a seminal survey
on climate change solutions.

Conducted by the international research firm GlobeScan for the World Bank,
IUCN, IDRC, the World Energy Council, WBCSD, TERI, The Centre, and ICLEI it
promises to be an influential survey.

Survey results will be broadly publicized to influence decision making in
all sectors during the critical phase of international negotiations and
strategy development that will occur between now and 2009. The preliminary
release of findings of this survey will coincide with the COP Ministerial in
Bali in mid-December.

It is important that your views and those of our global network be reflected
in the results of this survey. Please join your elite colleagues around the
world to help shape the world’s response to the climate challenge.

In return for about twenty minutes of your time to complete the survey, we
will be pleased to send you a summary of the results of what your peers have
to say. Please access the survey by clicking on the link below or by copying
the URL into your web browser. You can answer it on-line, or download a PDF
version for printing, completing and faxing or mailing back to GlobeScan.

The survey is currently available in English. French, Spanish, Russian,
Mandarin and Arabic versions will be available at the same link by November
28th.

I thank you in advance for your important contribution to this timely
initiative. Apologies for any cross-postings.
