and successful Citizens' Participation on local Level
Target Groups
Learning Community addresses
§ town councillors
§ representatives of public authorities
§ organisations of civil society
§ other multipliers
*Objectives*
Participants will gain profound theoretical and practical knowledge of the
approaches *Local Agenda* and *Participatory Budget*
Participants will learn, test and evaluate different participatory
methodologies and instruments useful for local level implementation
Participants will be able to plan, design and conduct a Local Agenda and
Participatory Budget process on community level
Participants will know how to consider and strengthen local participatory
processes and make them long lasting
Participants will be able to address new challenges in their professional
field of action by reflecting very particular case studies and find
solutions to specific problems
*Training Methods *
Learning Community's training approach is reflected in:
§ a well-balanced blend of condensed input and interactive learning
§ a broad scope of different learning methods and use of media
§ plenary discussions interlaced with in-depth working groups
§ a fine combination of theoretical approaches and the evaluation of
practical experience
§ case studies prepared by the trainers
§ provision of comprehensive training materials
The Training will be centred around the experiences and day-to-day
situations of the participants. Exposure trips to local communities
experienced in Participatory Budget and Local Agenda are included.
*Team of Trainers*
The team of trainers reflects the different societal backgrounds of the
participating institutions, as there are Universities, state-institutions,
consultancies, and NGOs. It also reflects the European character of the
Training: The trainers are from Poland, Germany, France, and Spain.
*Who can apply?*
The Course is open to citizens of European Union member states and
associated countries.
Course A and B are equivalent with slight differences only.
Application to Socrates Programme *for a Grant* is possible through the
Socrates National Agency of the participants' country of origin. Please
check requirements and procedures:

Pre-registration at KATE (for Berlin, Gabi.Winkler at kate-stuttgart.org ) or
ACSUD Las Segovias (for Valencia, learning.community.acsud at gmail.com ) is
necessary before applying to your National Agency.
